Not in the sense of 'as a contest' but as where each member would share a photo of each their own likes and takes of what they photograph or made artsy? Either by day or week?...Thoughts anyone?

Sounds like an excellent idea to me.

I am game. The more we can inspire people to get out and shoot the better the board will be. It is comming on to winter now and the more we can get people going the better.

Winter can be one of the easier times to get out with a camera. I hate the heat!!!

Alright...we have had this feature going for a little while now. How is everyone liking it? Doesn't seem to get much participation. Is there something we could do differently to get more participation?

I had just noticed that there was nothing started for this last week so i started one lol. I like the idea behind it but we need more members to really make it work.

Yeah, right now with only about 20 members there won't be that much participation. Hopefully it will catch on a little more as the weeks go by.
Would doing a theme be better? How about if we went to a monthly theme instead of a weekly open photo request.

I have always liked the idea of a photo assignment. I have never participated in one but it might be a good deal kind of like Gregs site.

I think these suggestions are pretty good, but the forum will need a few more members before it really begins to click (voice of experience, with my own forum). Perhaps someone could suggest a theme for a photo, and let the members interpret it in their images. It's something I've tried before on my own site, like "food as still life" or "images involving water." You'd be surprised at the variety of things you will get, if you leave the interpretation of the theme up to the members!
