You really do have a style all your own. I really respect your sense of content in a photograph. As Steve said, several of these are quite profound. You really do great slice of life photography in an editorial style. Plus, you seem to be getting better every day!

All excellent and fascinating, Ciggy. My favorite is also the "somewhere this blood is real" sign. Very poignant.
You have a real talent for finding and capturing the touches of alternative/renegade art around your city. Keep up the good work!

i just edited this one, and i really like how the colors came out. tell me what you think. the tag in white is HARSH. he is a huge huge, very talented artist in New Orleans. this is called a handstyle or hand tag. he is extremely talented when he does full murals or pieces, but i just like how the color came out when i edited it.

The colors came out brilliant! It would be interesting to see some of his murals.

Hey Ciggy
Yet again your photography in this style blows me away. Like others have said I really like the one about the blood - makes you think - but they're all great.
I especially like the last one, I love the colours ;D
Fab work ;D

Your pictures remind me a lot of Seattle, which has a long history of alternative art like that.
There's a Seattle tavern I used to visit, called The Comet, and you'd love it. It's got all the typical fixtures of a great tavern -- great selection of brews, great old wooden bar, pool room, etc -- but it's also got lots of bare drywall instead of beautiful wood paneling. The bare drywall is welcome to grafitti of all sorts. Bring your own pen, pencil or Sharpie, or ask the barkeeps.
The variety of grafitti was amazing. In written form, there's everything from the rude and crude to the esoteric and downright beautiful. Lots of jokes and poetry. And for art, it ranged from renegade underground to some truly beautiful sketches that could go in a gallery. I used to spend evenings just nursing a pitcher while my friends and I explored the walls.

Given the prevalence of the underground art you've captured around New Orleans I'd be shocked if your city didn't have esoteric taverns like that. Cities that foster music and the arts usually do.
