I was trying to get a clear crisp moon and this car got in the way. it is the first time I have ever gotten a light trail but I do not shoot at night very often. Attachments:

Yep, that's the Big Dipper. You even picked up Alcor and Mizar (mee-zar), the pair of stars in the middle of the "handle."
Alcor and Mizar, though not particularly difficult to resolve with the naked eye, used to be a test of eyesight in the ancient world.

In Astronomy class I had to submit a "report" on Mizar once. It's been considered a binary star, two stars locked together in each other's gravitational hold. It was the first binary discovered by Galileo who wondered why this particular star seemed to be constantly changing size. Of course, now it's been discovered that each of the two stars are binaries, so Mizar is actually four stars. It would be weird to have four suns, days and nights would get pretty complicated.

John, your accidental light trail actually adds a good deal of drama to the picture. Quite frankly I think the addition makes this a very good image.
