These are rough proofs from my first gig as second-shooter. These images are minimally processed and some won't even make the first cut due to blurriness or other factors. But it's a broad sampling taken over seven hours. Attachments:

My computer wouldn't load the whole image, but the first 2 rows look nice. It seems you have a good eye for weddings. Caught some very good candids.

I don't know if it's your computer at fault, Jim. I had a heck of a time uploading the image. It worked on the fourth try. I'll try to cut the collage in half and repost both.

...and the bottom half of that collage. The lower-left shot is of a girl at the next table over. She was checking her iPhone. The pic won't be used in the wedding album, but it was taken on a whim. She'll get a copy. I was particularly pleased with the one of the girl checking out the wedding cake. That shot is all in-camera. Attachments:

Lots of good candids and a lot of variety. You definately have some useable photos here. I especially like the lighting in the photo of the girl, bottom left on the samples 2 page.

Great job Bob! I gotta say, these photos you took came out better than most of the ones the "professional wedding photographer" got at my son's wedding! I'm very impressed!

Now see that wasn't that bad was it??? I think you did good!!! Isn't that the way it is with professional too...Some keepers and some not? Being 2nd shooter you were able to mingle easier and fit in with the crowd.

Just like playing a sport (or shooting one), the nerves weren't a problem once the game started. We were either too busy to have time to worry or we had enough time to anticipate and solve problems.
It helped immensely, though, to have a bride and groom so mature and kind and unflappable. And the parents were totally in control. They wisely got a fantastic wedding planner who took care of it all -- totally on top of things and a great communicator. No Bridezilla factor here.
I doubt most weddings will go half this smoothly, but I don't expect them to. Solving problems on the fly is part of what I find most fun about photography.
As for keeper rates, I'm proud of the shots I nailed (and the customer will be pleased with them too), and I know there will always be some I miss, but I'll always grit my teeth over the "ones that got away."

those shots are great. i get nervous even thinking about shooting weddings. i love the one of the little girl with her arms folded. thats a great shot. i like the one of the guy buttoning his shit in the mirror. all of them are great shots. the bride and groom should be very pleased with the shots that you got.
