Every year before a football game the band has a tailgate for our Senior band members. The last couple of years I have been photographing this event. Here are the seniors (that were present) and the directors. This was taken with on camera flash but the flash had an Interfit Strobies Beauty Dish on it. Was the first time I'd used it and I was very pleased with the results. This difuser is going to be great for doing events like these.

That looks great!
Would that be good for at home family portraits?...I have yet to get a some kind of flash or diffuser or something xtra without the cost...

That's a good shot, Mark. Nicely lighted and -- the difficult part -- everybody's spaced and placed so no one's hear is blocked. But it never fails... there always someone blinking!

Blinking or moving! I took a lot of shots to get a couple of decent ones!! Juanita, I have not done too much testing with it indoors yet. Indoors I tend to use a Lightshere depending in the ceiling height. Low ceilings I use a Lightsphere (kind of a pricey diffuser) and for high ceilings I'll use something called the Universal Light Box because it presents me with more options. There are a lot of options for the Strobie but at this point all I plan on trying is the Beauty Dish. To see their options here is a link: interfitphotographic.com/Strobies/Strobies%20index.html

When I take soccer team shots, I have to take at least a dozen shots (sometimes up to two dozen, if the kids are energetic). Even with that many it's not a matter of finding a single clean shot, but getting enough samples of everybody so I can clone a face from one shot to another.
