Probably the most common shot at Yosemite N.P. I tried to give a fresh look to an over shot location. Attachments:

Mother nature decided to work against me toward the end of the day. Clouds started rolling in and locations I had planned to stop at on the way out went from awesome to this pretty fast. Attachments:

This is an HDR. hope you like it. The effect was used specifically to bring out detail in the cliff and add a slight long exposure effect to the images. I used bracketing a lot on our visit so it worked out to my benifit. Attachments:

Thanks everyone, it was a lot of fun going with my wife, with the exception that she is not a photog and tired of waitin on me. Over half the park was closed for the season so I think des and I are gonna go back in late spring when the roads are open again. It is really tough to get original shots at yosemite. I think I may have managed 3 but had to do some creek crossin and rock climbing to get them.

My wife took some images of me while I rock hoppin trying to get closer to a set of falls. Her POS P&S is not all that great but she refuses to carry my old canon. My tripod is not all that great but it gets the job done for now.

I like the fact that you are trying to find different and new ways to photograph this area. Its a real shame that the most beautiful places on earth have been photographed so many times and different ways. It somehow takes some of the excitement out of doing it yourself because you always end up comparing your work to those who went before you.
You did a good job here, and for what its worth, you haven't captured the standard images...at least not what I've seen of the subjects. It really is pretty out there!

Greg, what was so hard was watching 150 other photogs trying to get pics. I seen guys with $10,000 worth of equipment, half of them waiting there turn at where someone else had just stood and taken a shot at. I had a guy turn around and come back to a spot I was shooting at so I drove down the road a little ways and found a better spot, of course thats where the clouds messed me up.
Steve, yeah I figure I better use the equipment I have bought or my wife will not let me buy more hahaha. The weather has been a factor this week but I have had a lot of comp work to do.
