I didn't make any changes to this one post tone mapping. There's some ghosting in the leaves which adds a strange effect.

To me this one doesn't really look like an HDR as it lacks the surrealism that is associated with them.

The surreal effect is when HDR is done over the top. Subtle HDR images don't ever look like they are done that way. Those are the best uses when it comes to landscape photography.

I like the subtle look myself the second image is nice. the HDR pulled out detail that you might have missed with a single image.
