For those who do not have the funds to get purchased software , there is an excellent application called GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation program)(Publicly developed software) which allows to to perform many of the features you would and more than some programs you pay for. This application runs on several operating systems so has some excellent advantages. Even if you have paid applications, this can be useful for other tasks such as converting raw formats , etc www.gimp.org/Have fun and play hard .

If you are using a 64-bit OS, you need to add the -o32' option for the compiler, or use gcc. With the SGI compiler, you may also need to play with optimization. Some modules may have exhibit problems unless compiled with -O1' or even `-O0'.

Thanks Bob. I aquired a new laptop a couple of months ago I've been using for work and home. Unfortunately, no place around here carries laptops with anything other than 64-bit Windows Vista.

I have never tried GIMP but have heard good things about it. Steve do not feel to bad. their is a cure for Vista although it cost money. supposedly windows 7 is going to fix all of vista's issues with a no hassel upgrade (except for having to pay for it, About $120). I may have miss read but supposedly you just slide the CD Rom upgrade in and it changes the OS with out having to back up everything. XP users will have to back up everything to install windows 7 though.

It's a monumentally bad idea to upgrade any operating system without backing up first.
Steve Ballmer doesn't care if MS customers rip out their hair. He's already bald.

Steve Ballmer doesn't care if MS customers rip out their hair. He's already bald. That's probably the justification for Vista in the first place, so he wouldn't feel alone.

hahaha your probably right. I have been missing my old XP lately. maybe some time soon I can do the upgrade. Bob a system back up is important to have anyways, but yeah it would be a chancy thing to upgrade a OS without. I was just relating back what I had read on it.
