At this time of year, the mountains are blanketed with these at the upper elevations.

I can't let you be the only one to post for the week so here is one that I did a few days ago shortly after sunrise. Pilot Knob I am looking forward to when our trees are covered with leaves like you have photographed. I love this time of year when the colors are vibrant. The off years when everything turns dull and brown depress me...its looking promising around here this year though. We'll see. If nothing else I get to see your capture of the leaves which are quite colorful, and full of detail.

I know I've posted the picture like this one on the old board, but this one I took the other morning on my way to work when it was rainy and very foggy outside. I like the way it came out, even with no post processing. Attachments:

I love this time of year when the leaves are turning. Here in Oklahoma, about 3 1/2 hours southeast of Oklahoma City, there is a scenic drive that covers about 50+ miles of views like this. It goes from Talihina, Oklahoma to Mena, Arkansas and this is the place all us Okies count on seeing every year. I hope to get down there in the next couple of weeks. If anyone wants to check it out, here's the link to one of many sites: www.talimenascenicdrive.com/I love both of your shots Steve and Greg!

Ho-hum, another prettyface picture... (More ad material for high school senior portrait work.) Same girl as last time but today was done indoors. I was going for a classic Hollywood look in this series of shots. I used the white backdrop -- largely unlighted itself for this look -- and the main light (usually softened with a big softbox) got a 20-degree grid, which made it a snoot. And instead of trying at all costs to avoid the girl casting a shadow, I tried to use the shadow. I shot this from a ladder. The strapless evening gown is actually just a few yards of plain satin. And the girl is ill. She went back to bed after the shoot was done. (Note: ...and now I'm coming down with whatever she's got. ) Attachments:

Interesting... All four so far have been studies in reds and pinks. Even Neva's awesome shot of the capitol (the red beacon atop the dome). Flop's leaves and Greg's sky are fascinating.

You are paying waaaaay too much attention here!! But now that you have pointed it out, you are right. Strange how we are all kind of following a theme without intending to. OK, extra credit for those that follow the trend and post up reds and pinks!

The lighting was perfect for the subject, and you made great use of all of your environmental elements.

Oops! That's a violation of the Red Rule of the Week, John! She'll have to go change into something red!
Kidding.
Very pretty model and well photographed.

That's beautiful, Juanita. I like how you used the horses to provide some life to the picture and also to show the scale of the scene. Great use of light and mist.
